VOIDOKILA BEACH
Voidokilia Beach lies northwest of the town of Pylos and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. Its distinctive shape is formed by a narrow promontory.
The beach leads an impressive double life: golden sand and turquoise sea – at the same time, it is one of the most important wetlands in Europe. More than 250 bird species can be found here throughout the year.
Mythologically, the beach is considered Homer's "sandy Pylos" – the place where Telemachus landed in search of his father Odysseus at King Nestor's court.
The beach can be reached from Villa Zeno in about 10-15 minutes by car.
